Pennsylvania: Directive Guides Provision of Medicaid Telecare Services
Posted: October 1 2009
The Office of Long-Term Living (OLTL) in Pennsylvania's Department on Aging recently released a directive to guide aging services providers who are interested in delivering Telecare services under the state's Aging Waiver and Options Program. The waiver program covers a broad range of technology-enabled services, including personal emergency response systems, medication management, and behavioral and remote patient monitoring. The directive identifies covered service and technologies, eligibility criteria and reimbursement rates. We encourage CAST and AAHSA Members in Pennsylvania to review the directive and explore how they can use the waiver program to offer new or expanded technology-enabled services to lower income seniors.

Providers Demonstrate HIT to Legislators
Posted: May 04 2009
Keystone State legislators celebrated "Pennsylvania Healthcare Information Technology Awareness Day" on May 5 by participating in a Solutions Fair sponsored by the Pennsylvania eHealth Initiative. During the fair, 14 Pennsylvania health care providers demonstrated how they are using information technology - including electronic health records and health information exchanges - to improve health care delivery and outcomes and to reduce costs.
